Every weekend, more than 80 children gather at the temple for Aranerin Vakuppukal — free classes in Hindu Dharma, devotional stories and Tamil scripture. Volunteers from Omanthai and neighbouring villages lead the sessions.
Demand has grown faster than the temple's classrooms can hold. The trustees have set aside space in the new Nunkalai Kalluri building to launch a Fine Arts wing — bharatanatyam, carnatic vocal and devotional drawing — alongside the religious classes.
Families who wish to enrol their children, or volunteers who can teach, are encouraged to contact the temple office directly.
