Each year the temple hosts an eight-day festival that retells the story of Kannagi — from her separation from Kovalan to her ascension as a goddess. The 2026 festival begins with Kodietram (flag hoisting) on Monday, 6 July, and concludes with Vairavar Padai on Tuesday, 14 July.

Devotee families traditionally sponsor a day of the festival as Upayakarar. Sponsorship covers the day's pujas, archanai and offerings to all present. Application forms are available at the temple office.

Visitors are warmly invited. The 5th day Kalyanam Pappu and the 8th day Pongal Vizha draw the largest crowds, with chariot processions, communal cooking and night-long devotional singing.
